Our Team
Since 2004, DA Brothers Contractors, LLC has been serving the Monadnock region homeowners’ and homebuilders’ needs for both new and renovation construction projects for both residential and commercial buildings.
Originally founded by Dan Lang and Raymond Phillips, both firefighters with the Keene Fire Department for many years, DA Brothers’ core team has been fighting fires and constructing fine homes and furniture since the beginning.
This latest business is a division called Homestead Covered Bridge Kitchens & Design, which was created with the ultimate goal of making the remodeling experience easier for you, the homeowner. We offer different levels of cabinets to fit most clients’ budgets, and we partner with local vendors for countertops and fixtures.
In 2024, DA Brothers made a decision to relocate to better serve the needs of clients wanting to renovate their kitchen or bathroom. Our new kitchen and bathroom design showroom is at the old Thomas Transportation building at 93 Monadnock Highway near Sam’s Army Navy. This space allows clients to feel at home at our “kitchen design table” while looking at samples of many different cabinets, countertops, and hardware.
Our new business was created with the ultimate goal of making the remodeling experience easier for you, the homeowner.

Dedication to High-Quality Service and Local Commitment
“I wanted to create a place where quality, customization, and customer service weren’t optional—they were guaranteed. It was also about building something local and meaningful. I wanted to support my community by sourcing materials responsibly and creating jobs. I’ve always believed that the spaces we live and work in should reflect quality, functionality, and craftsmanship.
A Passion for Cabinetry and Craftsmanship
“For me, cabinetry is more than just wood and hinges—it’s about creating something lasting, personal, and purposeful. Starting this cabinetry store was a way for me to turn my passion into a purpose: to help customers transform their kitchens, bathrooms, and living spaces into something truly special. Whether it’s a custom build or a ready-to-install design, I wanted to create a place where craftsmanship and customer care are never compromised.”
Buddy Champney
Vice President, Da Brothers Contractors LLC & Homestead Covered Bridge Kitchens & Design | Builder & Designer | Former President, NH Home Builders Association
With over 41 years in the building industry, Buddy Champney has built a career defined by craftsmanship, creativity, and a genuine commitment to people. As vice president of Da Brothers Contractors LLC in Swanzey, NH, Buddy brings hands-on experience and design expertise to every project — from complete home renovations and new builds to thoughtfully designed kitchens, baths, and living spaces.
“My approach blends technical know-how with creative design insight, ensuring that every project is both functional and beautiful. Our dedication to high standards and clear communication has earned Da Brothers Contractors (and now Homestead Covered Bridge Kitchens and Design) a trusted reputation across the region.
Beyond my leadership role, I am deeply invested in education and training for our crews, creating structured growth paths and hands-on learning opportunities that help employees advance their skills and careers in the trades. “I believe teaching craftsmanship, accountability, and pride in one’s work is just as important as building the structures themselves.”
A respected voice in the industry, Buddy also served as President of the NH Home Builders Association, where he championed professionalism and continued education through the building community.
Outside of work, Buddy expresses his creativity through Buddy Champney Designs, a personal passion where he builds custom furniture and paints original artwork — projects that reflect the same artistry and precision he brings to every home and business.
“Whether I am designing a new kitchen, mentoring a young carpenter, or sketching a new idea in his studio, I approach each day with the same goal he’s had since the start: to build things that last — from homes and furniture to people and purpose.”
Jeremy Nettleton
Construction Superintendent
As the construction superintendent, I’ve led ground-up builds and complex renovations, managing crews, coordinating subcontractors, enforcing safety standards, and ensuring quality execution. I maintain detailed schedules, proactively resolve site challenges, and communicate effectively with clients, engineers, and inspectors to deliver projects on time and within budget.
“I launched my construction career with 12 years of service in the U.S. Navy Seabees as a Steelworker, where I gained extensive hands-on experience in structural fabrication, welding, and field operations under high-pressure conditions. That military foundation instilled discipline, adaptability, and a mission-focused mindset that I’ve carried into my civilian roles. I joined DA Brothers 9 years ago to pursue a career in carpentry, developing skills in framing, finish work, and custom builds. This shift allowed me to deepen my understanding of residential construction, collaborate closely with skilled tradespeople, and contribute to high-quality craftsmanship on a variety of projects.
“I find deep satisfaction in seeing the physical results of hard work and teamwork at DA Brothers and Homestead Covered Bridget Kitchens & Design. Watching projects evolve from plans to meaningful structures motivates me. I thrive on solving problems, adapting to challenges, and collaborating with a team that values quality. The variety of daily tasks keeps me inspired to grow and build with intention.
“I lead a fulfilling personal life centered around spending quality time with my family and embracing the outdoors. Whether it’s hiking through scenic trails or casting a line on a quiet river, fly fishing is one of my favorite ways to unwind and connect with nature. These peaceful moments outside help me recharge and stay grounded.”
Nick Paquette
As a Construction Supervisor, I am responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of construction projects from start to finish. My duties include managing on-site activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with plans, specifications, and building codes. I supervise and direct construction workers, subcontractors, and equipment operators, while maintaining effective communication between project managers, engineers, and clients. I also monitor project progress, control costs, and ensure materials and resources are used efficiently. I enforce health and safety regulations, conduct site inspections, and resolve issues as they arise to keep the project on track and within deadlines. My goal is to deliver high-quality construction work that meets or exceeds client expectations.
I began my journey in the construction industry back in 1998, while still in the 9th grade. After graduating at the top of my carpentry class, I had the opportunity to work alongside a highly respected and well-known carpenter in the area, which helped me build a strong foundation of hands-on skills and craftsmanship. I then transitioned into commercial construction, spending five years with RH White Construction, where I received extensive training in several key areas, including confined space entry, OSHA 40 certification, scaffolding erection, competent person training, and fire safety. Afterward, I relocated to New Hampshire, where I worked with several contractors as a subcontractor. It was during this time that I met Dan, marking the beginning of the next chapter in my construction career.
I’ve always been the type of person who gives my best no matter the job or place I’m working. I take pride in going above and beyond customer expectations and constantly strive for excellence in everything I do. I have a true passion for custom finish work—there’s nothing more rewarding than taking a client’s vision and turning it into reality. The best part of the job is seeing the client’s reaction when they see the final result and hearing how much they love the work and process to get to the completion. One of the things I enjoy most about this industry is the variety it offers. One day I might be in the shop crafting a custom cabinet from rare woods to perfectly match a client’s needs, and the next day I could be out on site building intricate concrete forms on granite ledges for a deck. Every project brings new challenges and opportunities to create something unique and lasting.
When I’m not at work, I love spending quality time with my family-whether it’s riding horses with my daughter, spending time with our seven goats, one sheep, and chocolate lab, or getting outside to enjoy nature. I have a passion for kayaking and hiking in the mountains, and I find peace and balance in the outdoors. It’s truly where I feel most at home!

Carpenter
As a carpenter, I lead jobs and teach laborers and apprentices what they need to know to complete the job. I’ve been in the industry for almost 10 years. My specialized training is varied, but includes roofing, windows and doors, siding, trim, and flooring. My motto is: “Would it be good enough if it were your house,” meaning that I strive to put out the same exceptional work that I would expect in my own home. What I enjoy the most is achieving beyond the desired result. I enjoy the work. What motivates me is my team and the desire to become a better carpenter. I’m an outdoorsy guy. I love anything with a motor, and if you have a pond in your backyard or live on a lake, I’m bringing my fishing pole.”

As carpenter; my duties include framing, trim work, tiling, and drywall. I have worked in this industry for 3 years, specializing in stair finishing and carpenter training. My motto is: “Get right in there.” Starting so late in life with this, I feel like I’m constantly making up for lost time. I enjoy finishing carpentry, while stairs are my absolute favorite to work on. I love getting into a good groove with my co-workers. When I came to DA Brothers, I had no skills; they have built me up professionally and personally into the man I am today.

Carpenter
As carpenter; my duties include framing, sheathing, trim work, and helping apprentices learn. I have been in the business for over 3 years. My strength at work is finishing carpentry; I have the most experience in trimming. I’m from the Keene area, and since I was 17, I knew I wanted to go into the trades. It’s wonderful not to sit at a desk. I enjoy gaining the knowledge to build homes as well as the problem-solving that comes with this kind of work. I’m motivated by having the ability to work on my own stuff. Outside of work, I live fishing in the summer and snowboarding in the winter.
